Framed by Walls
This photographic project reimagines London's council housing tower blocks by digitally isolating them from their surroundings, presenting them in a stark, almost painterly light. Removed from the visual noise of the city, these buildings take on a sculptural presence—both monumental and intimate—that invites fresh attention. The framing here is more than visual. These walls do not merely contain; they also define. In a city where architecture often signals status, these tower blocks act as silent markers of social identity—framing not only the people who live within them, but also how they are perceived. This project explores the tension between being visually framed and socially framed: isolated, labelled, sometimes even judged. By stripping away the context, I invite viewers to reflect on how environments shape narratives—not just about place, but about people.
