Initially, I conceived this project as an experiment in visual reconciliation based on real subjects, but I realized that reality was resisting: I could not find an archive of faces that allowed for the total control and neutrality my work requires. Therefore, I decided to change direction and generate the subjects myself through Artificial Intelligence.
The project thus became a closed system, where each final portrait is born from the fusion of previously created identities. Once these faces were produced, I searched for the meeting point between artificial data and the truth of the gaze.
Every portrait in this sequence is not proof of an existence, but the result of a calculation: synthetic identities that look back at us with a truth they do not possess. In a world where everything can be reproduced, these images are not traces of what once was, but evidence of what has never existed.
